Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark's Baby Boy

Early morning on the 4th of May 2009, Princess Marie of Denmark and Prince Joachim welcomed their first child, a baby son.

This baby is seventh-in-line to the Danish throne and weighed in at 6.67lbs and measured 19.6in. Prince Joachim, who already has two sons from his first marriage to Hong Kong-born Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, was present at the birth and cut the umbilical cord.

According to Danish tradition the name of the baby will only be revealed at his christening.

Proud Prince Joachim said that he shed a tear at the birth, telling the press at the University Hospital of Copenhagen "It's a great and moving feeling to experience a new life come about."

"He is a little smaller than me and looks just as new-born male children do. We can wonder from here to eternity who he resembles, but he resembles himself," the smiling father said when asked which of the happy parents his new baby looks like.

Thirty-three-year-old Princess Marie and Prince Joachim, knew in advance they were expecting a son. Their child is the fifth grandchild of Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik joining half-brothers Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix as well as Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary's two children, Prince Christian, three, and two-year-old Princess Isabella.

These are photos of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie leaving the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark, with their baby boy after introducing their child to the press.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark 5th Wedding Anniversary

The Danish Crown Prince and Crown Princess has released these official photos to mark their 5th wedding anniversary.

Their wedding anniversary was on the 14th of May 2009, and it was relatively low key with little coverage by the Danish press. The couple celebrated at their home.

A spokesperson for the couple stated that there were no public activities planned to mark their wedding anniversary.

These newly released photos of the Crown Prince and Crown Princess and their children show warmth and happiness in contrast to a new book by Trine Villemann claiming that the couple were experiencing marriage problems and they had spent over their $4 million budget.

Also some of the spotlight was taken away from their wedding anniversary and focused on Prince Joachim and Princess Marie's first baby, a son who was born on May the 4th.
